Position Summary:

The Front of House Manager will oversee the regular operation of the Front of House (FOH) Tasks include supervising employees, overseeing the FOH operations, managing the Point of Sale (POS) and inventory, and preparing and overseeing the drink menu.

This is a front-of-house-based position and requires collaboration with the kitchen staff to fulfill tasks and essential functions. The responsibilities and duties of this position as described are representative of those an employee must perform. This is not comprehensive and other duties may be assigned. The Front of House Manager represents the company and therefore is responsible for working in a professional manner and will seek to promote the company’s values and creed.

Essential Functions:

• Manage and lead the front of house team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and growth.
• Ensure that every customer receives exceptional service, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflects the Wren's Nest Baking Co. brand. Address customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Monitor daily operations to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety standards. Coordinate with the kitchen team to maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure availability of products.
• Possess a deep understanding of our gluten-free product offerings to assist customers with menu choices, answer questions about ingredients, and accommodate dietary preferences or restrictions.
• Develop strategies to enhance sales by promoting featured products, upselling add-ons, and implementing loyalty programs to encourage repeat business.
• Collaborate with the bakery team to create visually appealing displays that showcase our products and contribute to an inviting atmosphere.
• Oversee the Point of Sale (POS) system, including processing transactions accurately, handling cash management, and resolving technical issues that arise.
• Direct and enforce daily employee duties and expectations.
• Maintain employee schedule and training. Create a monthly schedule to include any necessary shift changes for time off, and approve or decline any shift swaps.

Regular Duties:

• Prepare the FOH for customers arriving each morning, including turning on the coffee machine, turning on the POS, and setting up the counter and drink station.
• Ensure that the POS is ready to accept payment and cash drawer is counted and stocked.
• Restock all drink supplies, including milk, chocolate powder, flavoring, syrups, cups, lids, add-ins, etc.
• Coordinate with the kitchen to set up the daily displays and products.
• Verify the daily inventory and ensure that the inventory count is updated in the POS system.
• Delegate the tasks as necessary and quality control the tasks.
• Clean up the workstation and workspaces, clean the floors, etc.
• Restock items as necessary for the next day. Do a sweep of inventory and goods.
• Check with each employee’s work to ensure work has been completed correctly.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly
• Communication with leadership regarding attendance, giving as much time as possible for any absences or delays

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing and walking, in and around bakery FOH
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds or more
